Glaucoma & Diabetic Eye Exams
At Partners Pacific Optometry, we care about the health of your eyes. That’s why, in addition to offering vision screening, eyeglasses and contact lenses, we provide our community with professional glaucoma and diabetic eye exams designed to detect and treat these conditions early on.
Glaucoma is defined by the presence of high pressure inside of the eye, which can lead to optic nerve damage and vision loss. The goal of glaucoma exams is to detect this condition early, since early detection can lead to better treatment outcomes and less risk of losing vision. While glaucoma is more prevalent in individuals over the age of 60, it can be present in children as well.
Diabetic eye exams are important for detecting eye and vision problems that can arise for individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Such conditions may include diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and glaucoma. In the early stages of diabetic eye disease, symptoms may not be present. That’s why we conduct tests for diabetic eye disease, since the earlier it can be detected, the better the prognosis.
